Construction of the new £22 million Wembley Manor School has reached a significant milestone with the installation of the final 18 modular units.

Teachers, councillors, and construction workers celebrated the completion of the modular structure this week.

The school, located on London Road, will provide 150 additional Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) places in Brent, addressing the growing demand for specialist support in the borough. The 121 modular units, manufactured by Reds10 at their East Yorkshire facility, form the three-story building, which covers 3,801 square meters.

The project aims to reduce the need for local children to travel outside of Brent for SEND education, aligning with a trend observed in London Councils reports, which indicate a 10 percent annual increase in the number of pupils requiring special educational, health, and social care plans over the past decade.

Reds10, a leader in industrialised construction, is delivering the project. Joe Shepherd, Director and Education Sector Lead for Reds10, highlighted the project's sustainability: "As the school is being delivered to BREEAM Outstanding, it will be one of the most sustainable SEND schools in the country."

The school has achieved a BREEAM design score of 98.9 and is on track to receive an overall BREEAM Outstanding rating. The project has also earned a perfect score from the Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS) and has been nominated for a CCS award.

The Wembley Manor School is notable for being Reds10's largest three-story school, utilising 121 modular units, and for its rapid programme delivery. Work commenced in July 2024, and the project is ahead of schedule for completion in autumn 2025.
