Kier Construction has appointed Andy Bolas as its new Defence Sector Director, a move that comes at a critical juncture for both the company and the sector.
Andy's appointment will provide much-needed leadership and direction as the contractor continues its vital support for the nation's defence and security programmes.
Andy will step into his new role at the end of February, following six years as Regional Director for Kier in Gloucester & Oxfordshire, part of its Construction Western & Wales division. His appointment marks a milestone in a career that spans 25 years at Kier, starting as a graduate in design management and progressing through roles of increasing responsibility.
Throughout his career, Andy has delivered a number of high-profile projects across both the private and public sectors, including work with the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) and the UK Atomic Energy Authority. His extensive experience in the sector will be crucial as he takes the helm of Kier’s Defence division.
In his new role, Andy will oversee a range of key defence projects and programmes, including the Defence Estates Optimisation Programme, the Single Living Accommodation Alliance, and HM Naval Base Clyde, ensuring the continued success and delivery of these strategic initiatives.
