Crawley Borough Council has announced plans to appoint a contractor to demolish the old Town Hall, which has remained vacant since 2023.
The demolition is part of a wider redevelopment plan for the site, which has been identified for new residential and commercial space. The project is expected to significantly contribute to the economic growth of Crawley, revitalising the area and providing much-needed housing and business opportunities.
The demolition work will be funded through the Brownfield Land Release Fund (BLRF), a programme supported by the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG), the Local Government Association (LGA), and the One Public Estate (OPE) Programme. The total funding allocated for the development of the site is £2,386,624.
Demolition work is scheduled to begin in October.
