Persimmon Homes West Wales Partners with Hafod and Rhondda Cynon Taf Council

Persimmon Homes West Wales has joined forces with Hafod and Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council to deliver a new range of homes for social rent at its major Parc Llanilid development.

The new homes, which include a mix of one- and two-bedroom apartments and two-bedroom houses, were officially handed over to Hafod at the start of February, with residents now beginning to move into their new homes.

Located in a prime area with excellent access to the M4 and local amenities, the homes are part of the larger Parc Llanilid development, which is transforming a former open-cast coal site into a vibrant community. The overall project will see the construction of over 1,700 homes, alongside future plans for a primary school and a village centre featuring leisure, retail, and community facilities.

Work on the brownfield site began in 2019, and the long-term vision for the development is set to create a lasting and sustainable neighbourhood.

Stuart Phillips, Managing Director of Persimmon Homes West Wales, commented: "We're delighted to have finalised the latest agreement with Hafod to deliver the next cluster of affordable homes.

"This development is a major scheme that is delivering homes for many local families. And the latest proportion reserved for housing associations is a key part of our broader goal to create a positive and lasting legacy wherever we build.

"Persimmon looks forward to building on our partnership with Hafod as well as high-quality homes for local people."
