Hamworthy's historic Lake Pier has been restored to public use after the completion of a major refurbishment project.

The work, which began last autumn, has now been completed, and public access to the pier has been fully reinstated.

The £330,000 refurbishment was funded through the Community Infrastructure Levy, a planning charge on new developments that is reinvested in local infrastructure and facilities. The project was delivered on-budget, ensuring that the pier can once again serve the community for years to come.

Key improvements include the use of steel to re-strengthen the pier's structure, alongside the installation of new side beams and handrails along its entire length. To safeguard the pier head and nearby car park from coastal erosion, 55 metres of harbour frontage has been reinforced with rock.
