Housebuilder Story Homes has announced the exchange of contracts for a new residential development site on Dialstone Lane in Offerton, Stockport.
The site will deliver 112 high-quality homes, with 50% of the properties designated as affordable housing, helping to address Stockport's growing housing demand.
Located between Brooklyn Road and Hornbeam Close, the land is currently owned by Stockport Grammar School. Historically used for sports, the site has been vacant since 2015 due to a range of challenges, including safeguarding concerns and a lack of facilities. With the land no longer in active use by the school, Stockport Grammar School has sought alternative options to bring the site into productive use.
A planning application for the proposed residential development is expected to be submitted to Stockport Council soon, following a public consultation event held in February of last year. The event invited local residents to provide feedback and help shape the development plans.
As part of the project, Story Homes will work closely with Stockport Council to agree on a series of community measures and contributions, designed to benefit both new and existing residents. These will include a sports mitigation scheme, in line with the Section 106 Agreement.
