Bromford has secured land for 179 new homes across three sites as part of its ongoing commitment to delivering much-needed affordable housing.
The developments will be located in Brierley Hill, Dudley (50 homes), Highnam, Tewkesbury (95 homes), and Hopwood, near Bromsgrove (34 homes). The homes will offer a variety of tenure options, including social rent, affordable rent, and shared ownership, addressing the diverse housing needs of local communities.
In addition to these secured sites, Bromford is actively progressing contracts to acquire land for over 1,000 more homes in multiple locations, with agreements expected to be finalized by the end of March 2025. These future projects align with the housing association's long-term strategy to scale up its housebuilding programme and respond to the growing demand for affordable homes. A significant portion of these homes will be dedicated to social rent, reinforcing Bromford’s position as England’s largest builder of social rent homes.
These land acquisitions are part of Bromford's ambitious goal to build 11,000 homes across the West Midlands and West of England over the next seven years. As part of its commitment to sustainability and efficiency, Bromford plans to incorporate Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) into some of its future developments. This innovative approach will involve manufacturing key structural elements offsite, reducing waste and improving overall construction efficiency.
