GMI Construction Group is making significant strides on the second Dakota Hotel being built in Manchester, located near Manchester Airport.
The base slabs have been completed and the reinforced concrete frame is already rising from the ground.
Scheduled to open in 2026, the 154-bedroom Dakota Manchester Airport will provide a contemporary seven storey retreat featuring stylish interiors, destination bar, and brasserie-style grill.
Conveniently located for domestic and international travellers, the project marks the fifth collaboration between GMI and the hotel chain’s owners, Evans Property Group. GMI has already successfully delivered Dakota hotels in Manchester city centre, Leeds, and Glasgow. Meanwhile, work continues to transform a former office block on Newcastle’s Quayside into a luxurious 118-bedroom destination.
Dakota Manchester Airport will maintain the boutique brand’s high standards of service and sophistication and is expected to create more than 150 jobs.
Designed by KPP Architects, it’s located off Bailey Lane, within the 60-acre MIX Manchester science, innovation, and manufacturing campus.
Marc Banks, Director, Evans Property Group said: "We are delighted to once again collaborate with GMI, a partner that understands our vision for delivering luxury and elegance in prime locations.
"Dakota Manchester Airport will embody the same unique experience our guests have come to expect, and it will prove a key asset for the airport and travellers alike, bringing our signature design and hospitality to one of the UK's most important travel hubs."
