Works are advancing smoothly on the Redmoor Academy development in Hinckley, with Midlands contractor G F Tomlinson marking a key milestone in the project.
The steel frame structure and associated groundworks have now been completed, setting the stage for further construction phases.
The project, funded by Leicestershire County Council, is set to transform the academy on Wykin Road, enhancing educational facilities and accommodating the growing student population. The planned upgrades include a state-of-the-art 696 sq. metre sports hall, which will support a wide range of indoor sports such as cricket, basketball, netball, badminton, and handball.
In addition to the sports hall, the development will feature essential facilities such as changing rooms, a reception area, offices, four new classrooms, and a fitness room, all designed to foster an enriching learning environment for students.
This new sports hall is the latest phase in a series of improvements to the campus by G F Tomlinson, who also completed a new teacher car park last year.
With the Vibro stone piling, drainage, and concrete foundations now in place, work continues with the installation of pre-cast floor planks and sub-structure masonry, keeping the project on track for timely completion.
