Vistry Group has announced a second joint venture with Latimer, the development arm of Clarion Housing Group, to deliver an additional 1,200 homes at the Sherford new town near Plymouth.
The two companies already have a strong partnership at Sherford, where they are working together to provide a mix of affordable and private-sale homes under the Linden and Bovis brands. As part of Vistry's partner delivery model, half of these new homes will be forward sold in affordable or private rental sector (PRS) tenures.
Sherford is one of the UK's most ambitious residential projects, located on the outskirts of Plymouth and blending into the picturesque South Hams countryside. Once complete, the development will feature 5,500 high-quality homes across three neighborhoods, four schools, community facilities, shops, and 84,000 square meters of employment and retail space. The town will also include extensive green areas, including a 500-acre country park, and well-connected transport links.
Construction at Sherford began in 2015, with the project being one of a select few large-scale housing developments backed by the government. Homes England has invested £32 million into the initiative, supporting its vision of delivering much-needed housing and infrastructure in the region.
