Skanska UK has partnered with Multiverse to enhance its employees' data skills and embrace the growing role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) within the construction sector.
The collaboration will see Skanska UK expand its existing Data Academy, offering new apprenticeship programmes in data analytics and AI.
"Through this partnership we are equipping our people with the knowledge and skills to ensure our projects deliver on time and to cost and quality expectations, making faster, data informed decisions," said Sally Scott, Director of Talent and Capability at Skanska UK. "Our Data apprenticeships are now joined by a new AI apprenticeship, enabling more colleagues the opportunity to upskill."
Multiverse, a tech company specialising in on-the-job learning, will deliver the training programmes. The company has already trained over 16,000 apprentices in AI, data, and digital skills.
The expanded Academy will offer programmes such as the Level 3 apprenticeship 'Data & insights for business decisions' and the Level 4 'Data fellowship', which will equip employees with advanced analytical skills.
Skanska UK is also pioneering the adoption of AI within the construction sector, launching a new 'AI for business value' programme for its employees. This programme will focus on leveraging AI to enhance project efficiency, optimise resource allocation, and improve overall project performance.
"From enhancing project timelines to optimising resource allocation, we recognise the transformative role data has in construction," said Tom Gould, Operational Efficiency Director, at Skanska UK. "Working together with Multiverse we are expanding learning opportunities for our people, ensuring we continue to deliver efficient and cost-effective solutions to clients and remain on the leading-edge of an evolving industry."
This initiative aligns with Skanska UK's commitment to embracing digital transformation and enhancing its competitive advantage in the construction market.
