Construction is now underway on a £23 million refurbishment project to create a new specialist education school for Coventry City Council at the former Woodlands School site.
Clegg Construction has begun the redevelopment at the Broad Lane, Eastern Green location. The new facility will provide much-needed additional space for pupils at Woodfield School, bringing together primary and secondary-aged students in a purpose-built learning environment.
Enhancing Facilities for Specialist Education
As part of the transformation, Clegg Construction will:
• Refurbish the seven original buildings on-site
• Create outdoor play areas, including a forest school
• Develop specialist teaching spaces to support pupils' needs
• Build a new car park to improve accessibility
This major investment will ensure that the new school provides a high-quality, supportive environment tailored to the requirements of its students.
Michael Sims, Managing Director at Clegg Construction, said: "Clegg Construction has wide experience of delivering new and refurbished educational facilities and we are extremely proud to have been appointed to redevelop, reconfigure, and repurpose this site. The team at Clegg Construction is looking forward to work progressing on this project, alongside our delivery partners."
The new school is due to be completed in 2026.
