Persimmon Homes To Begin Work On 72 New Homes In Pembrokeshire

Persimmon Homes West Wales has secured planning permission to build 72 new homes at Sandy Hill, a popular location in Pembrokeshire.

Following the approval in July, the company is set to begin work on the site, with the first properties expected to be on the market by summer 2025.

The development will offer a variety of homes, including one to four-bedroom detached and semi-detached houses, as well as terraced homes and apartments, designed to address local housing needs and provide opportunities for homeownership. The homes will feature a mix of render and stone finishes, in keeping with the local architectural style.

The project is designed with several community benefits, including an equipped play area at the centre of the development, contributions to highway and active travel improvements, and a new active travel link connecting the site to Sandy Hill Road.

Sustainability is also a key focus, with the development incorporating green technologies such as solar panels and electric vehicle charging points. The design includes sustainable drainage systems, bio-retention areas, and rain gardens, alongside ecological measures to protect dormouse habitats and preserve existing trees and hedgerows.

In addition to providing 72 new homes, Persimmon will contribute 35% of the properties (25 homes) to a local housing provider for rent and shared ownership, helping to ease pressure on Pembrokeshire’s housing list.

As part of its commitment to the community, Persimmon Homes also donates £48,000 annually across Wales through its Community Champions initiative, supporting local causes such as Saundersfoot Cricket Club and Saundersfoot Rotary Club’s Tenderfoot programme.
