Persimmon Acquires Housing Site In Market Weighton

Construction News Image
Persimmon's Yorkshire division has acquired a 14.9-acre housing site in Market Weighton, paving the way for a new residential community.

Full planning permission for the development, located off Holme Road, was granted in late August 2024.

The development, named Bradley Park, will include 193 homes, offering a mix of bungalows and houses with one to four bedrooms, designed to meet the diverse needs of local buyers. The site will also feature eight bungalows, all equipped with electric vehicle (EV) charging points. Every home will be built to the latest energy efficiency standards, reducing household energy costs and environmental impact.

Beyond the homes, the project will deliver over 2.2 acres of public open space, including a dedicated children’s play area, enhancing the community’s green infrastructure.

Persimmon will invest approximately £750,000 in local infrastructure improvements, including:

• 366,921 for outdoor sports facilities

• £320,000 for primary education

• Funding for two new bus stops on York Road

The project will also replace the site's existing pig farm, contributing to the regeneration of the area. With construction underway, Bradley Park promises to bring modern, sustainable housing and enhanced amenities to the Market Weighton community.
