United Living Infrastructure Services (ULIS), a subsidiary of United Living Group, has been awarded a multi-million-pound contract by Cadent, the UK's largest gas distribution network.
The project involves diverting a 600-metre section of the Alrewas to Ebstree high-pressure gas pipeline to enable the construction of the new M54 to M6 motorway link road in the West Midlands. The planned link road, a project spearheaded by National Highways, will address a longstanding gap in the motorway network. Currently, there is no direct route connecting the M54 and M6 north, forcing high volumes of long-distance and local traffic onto smaller local roads.
In partnership with Cadent, ULIS will play a critical role in facilitating this essential infrastructure upgrade, helping to improve traffic flow and reduce congestion in the region.
Campbell Crawford, Managing Director, United Living Infrastructure Services, said: "We are delighted to be working with Cadent to ensure the successful diversion of this gas pipeline, which will facilitate the improved motorway link between the M54 and the M6 in the West Midlands.
"Our focus will be on delivering a solution that ensures long-term protection, lower environmental and carbon impacts, and minimal disruption to local landscapes and traffic which will benefit customers and the local community."
