Platform 4 at Cleethorpes railway station has reopened following a £1 million refurbishment aimed at improving capacity and boosting the reliability of services to and from the popular seaside town.
The extensive upgrades are designed to ease platform congestion and enhance the overall travel experience for passengers, ensuring smoother and more efficient journeys.
The project included a comprehensive overhaul of Platform 4, with key upgrades such as:
• Rebuilding and repairing the platform walls.
• Installing a modern drainage system and upgraded lighting.
• Laying new tracks to enhance safety and ensure reliable train operations.
Additionally, a waiting shelter, similar to those on other platforms, has been installed, offering passengers seating and protection from the elements.
Supporting a Growing Seaside Destination
The reopening of Platform 4 is expected to play a crucial role in supporting Cleethorpes as a growing tourist destination by improving the station's capacity to handle increased footfall, particularly during peak travel times.
