Vistry Group has expanded its collaboration with Abrito deliver 116 new affordable homes in Wantage, Oxfordshire.
The development marks the latest phase in the Kingsgrove project, a vibrant new settlement set to feature 1,534 homes.
The partnership involves the seventh land parcel at Kingsgrove, following Vistry’s acquisition of phase six last year. In keeping with Vistry’s partner delivery strategy, the 116 homes in phase seven have been presold to Abri.
Affordable Living for the Community
The homes will include:
• One- and two-bedroom flats
• Two-, three-, and four-bedroom houses
Abri will fund the project using its own resources alongside grant support from its strategic partnership with Homes England, the government’s housing delivery agency. This funding ensures all 116 homes will be affordable, with 72 designated for affordable rent and 44 for shared ownership.
Planning and Community Features
While the site already has outline planning consent, the reserved matters application is still under review. Once completed, the new homes will form part of a thoughtfully designed neighbourhood hub featuring allotments, a community orchard, and other amenities.
The Kingsgrove masterplan also includes 100 acres of green space, a new public park, and extensive woodland, offering residents a harmonious blend of modern living and natural surroundings.
