Housebuilder Pennyfarthing Homes has announced an online public update and consultation for its proposed housing development, Swallowfield Park, located on land north of Manor Road in Milford-on-Sea.
The company is inviting feedback from the local community to help shape the project.
The development proposal includes 170 homes, offering a mix of one- to five-bedroom properties designed to accommodate a variety of residents, including first-time buyers, families, and downsizers. 85 of the homes will be designated as affordable housing, addressing local housing needs and supporting economic growth in the area.
In addition to the housing units, the plan incorporates extensive public open spaces and footpaths, aimed at providing benefits for the wider community.
The project also promises to deliver significant infrastructure improvements. Proposed upgrades include offsite highway works, such as a signalised junction at Lymington Road, and a £1 million S106 contribution for Milford-on-Sea Primary School, ensuring enhanced infrastructure to support the new development and the existing community.
The consultation reflects Pennyfarthing Homes' commitment to engaging with residents and integrating local input into the development process. The company encourages community members to participate and provide feedback to help shape Swallowfield Park's future.
Ben Arnold, Land and Planning Director for Pennyfarthing Homes, said: "We are keen to keep the community up to date about our proposals, as we develop our plans over the coming months. Milford on Sea, situated within the New Forest, is a highly sought-after area where affordable housing is often in short supply. Our goal is to provide local residents with the opportunity to stay in the area they cherish."
This site was allocated for residential development in the New Forest Local Plan, in 2020. An outline planning application for up to 170 homes, was submitted in 2023 and received a resolution to be granted by New Forest District Council, in February 2024. That scheme establishes the principles for development for up to 170 homes, including the accesses to the site from Manor Road and defining areas of the site for housing and landscaping.
