Henry Boot Construction has completed work on a new research facility for the University of Sheffield Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC).
The state-of-the-art, 29,700-square-foot building is located within the Advanced Manufacturing Innovation District, adjacent to AMRC's flagship Factory 2050. The facility, named Composites at Speed and Scale (COMPASS), will serve as a cutting-edge hub for research and development.
COMPASS is designed to drive advancements in lightweight materials for commercial aviation, addressing the industry's increasing need for lighter aircraft. Its research initiatives will also contribute to the aviation sector's ambitious goal of achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2050.
