Movember 2024 - Taking On Suicide, Prostate Cancer And Testicular Cancer

Construction News Image
Today is International Men's Day.

It's a day to celebrate the men in our lives and focus on their wellbeing.

Globally, more than 109,000 men are diagnosed with testicular cancer every year.

It's the most common cancer in younger men, with around 10,000 dying from the disease each year.

More than 836,000 men are living with, or have lived through testicular cancer right now.

Nobody knows exactly what causes testicular cancer, but if caught early it's usually treatable. That's why it's so important that we understand the risks. Click on the links below for more information.

Know The Signs

Your testicles are like no other part of your body. They go through normal changes and they'll sometimes feel a bit different.

Don't panic if something doesn't feel right at first. However, if you notice a new lump, go see your doctor. See below for the signs to look out for.

If you have any of these symptoms it's time for a chat with your doctor

• You find a lump or bump

• Your pair feels heavy

• Swelling down there

• Your pair feel hard

• You have an ache or pain

• One testicle is much bigger than the other

It's probably nothing but get it checked

Know how to check YOUR PAIR

Knowing how to check your pair will make it easier to understand when something is wrong.

Click here to watch Movember's guide to checking yourself over.

If you spot something that doesn't feel normal, speak to your doctor.

At some of our offices our security system may ask if you're sure you want to watch this video. Don't worry, this link is safe.

Become A Men's HEALTH CHAMPION

Becoming a men's health champion might sound like something that needs a huge gesture from you - but it really doesn't, and everyone can do it.

If you're a man, looking after your own health by checking your pair, improving your diet, or going for an extra run or walk each week, makes you a men's health champion.

Are you a 'Mo Sister' raising awareness for Movember? Guess what, you're a men's health champion, too.

Want to KNOW MORE?

If you'd like to learn more about testicular cancer, Movember's aptly named 'Nuts and Bolts' website has lots of useful resources and advice that you can tap into.

Trigger warning - this website will talk you through the journey of having testicular cancer.
