Construction News Image
Persimmon Homes has announced the completion of four new homes in Shropshire.

The housebuilders' West Midlands team completed the project which delivered the high-quality affordable homes at Weir Hill Gardens before handing the keys over to Shropshire Council, who will own the properties.

STAR Housing (the Council Arm's Length Management Organisation - ALMO) will manage the homes for people in housing need.

The handover was marked by a visit to the Shrewsbury development by West Midlands Technical Director, Lee Perry, as well as Councillor Dean Carroll, Cabinet Member for Housing and Assets, Shropshire Council.

Lee Perry, Technical Director at Persimmon Homes West Midlands, said: "Handing over a selection of our homes at Weir Hill Gardens is the latest example of our successful partnership with local authorities, which are helping to deliver much-needed affordable homes for families across the West Midlands.

"We're continuing to work hard to prioritise quality and affordability for all our customers. As well as the homes which have now been transferred, the average price of a Persimmon home is 25% below the market average in England and Wales – extending the opportunity of home ownership to more local families.

"We'll continue to work closely with our local partners to ensure our investment makes a positive difference to communities."

Councillor Dean Carroll, Cabinet Member for Housing and Assets, Shropshire Council, added: "We are delighted to work with Persimmon Homes to provide these new homes for local people in Shrewsbury. This partnership demonstrates our commitment to increasing the supply of affordable housing in the county and meeting the needs of our communities."
