Caddick Construction has secured a major contract to build the £11.4 million Pudsey Sixth Form College in Leeds, as part of an expanding education portfolio under NEPO's £800 million Construction Works framework.
Construction has already begun on the new teaching facility, which will provide dedicated sixth form space for up to 600 students aged 16 to 18, located next to Crawshaw Academy on Kent Road.
The project, commissioned by Luminate Education Group, will help address the growing demand for further education in Leeds by adding capacity across a network of institutions. Partnering with Leeds Sixth Form College, Leeds West Academy, Crawshaw Academy, and Co-Op Academy Priesthorpe, this new facility aims to enhance educational access for students in the region.
Caddick was awarded the project via the NEPO Construction Works solution, to which the contractor was appointed in 2023, allowing Luminate Education Group to utilize an efficient procurement process for this much-needed expansion in sixth form space. The Pudsey Sixth Form College project includes a new teaching block as well as associated infrastructure like car parking, access roads, and utility services.
Scheduled for completion ahead of the 2025/26 academic year, the new college will play a key role in supporting Leeds' further education needs, providing additional resources and opportunities for students in the city.
