Wates Group has unveiled its newly refurbished office in Warrington, designed as a cutting-edge, flexible workspace that emphasises sustainability and employee well-being.

Completed in just eight weeks, the two-floor, 6,500-square-foot office offers a range of features tailored to support both professional needs and personal wellness.

The office includes a 40-seat auditorium for meetings and community events, and a central social hub with a breakfast bar, dining area, and lounge, creating a relaxed environment for employees to connect. Workspaces feature hot desks, a walking workstation, and dedicated wellness areas, including a recreation zone with pool and table tennis, a quiet library zone, a multi-faith room, and a wellness room for relaxation.

Sustainability has been a central focus, with the office achieving an EPC A+ certification — an elite environmental standard held by less than 1% of UK non-domestic buildings. The space integrates an AI-driven HVAC system for optimal energy efficiency, solar panels, LED lighting, and water-saving fixtures, while 90% of construction waste was diverted from landfills, with most materials reused or recycled.

In a community-focused gesture, Wates donated office furniture to local charities and schools, including Tomorrow’s Women (Wirral) and Liverpool Lighthouse. The refurbishment represents a £1 million investment, with a focus on sourcing local materials and labour.
