Essential engineering work will halt most services to Liverpool Lime Street station this Sunday, 20 October, as Network Rail undertakes significant upgrades in the area.
The project involves replacing signals at Edge Hill and Runcorn Viaduct, as well as renewing track at Mossley Hill. Due to the complex track layout around Lime Street, the majority of lines leading into the station will be closed to ensure the work can be completed safely.
Passengers are advised to check for alternative travel options and expect service disruptions throughout the day.
Train operators are offering an amended timetable, with rail replacement buses in operation.
Liverpool Lime Street station will be open for retail, rail replacement services and access to the Merseyrail network, which is unaffected.
Passengers are advised to check National Rail Enquiries or with their train operator to plan their specific journey ahead of time.
