PBS Construction is to commence resurfacing works on Gillshill Road and Ings Road in Hull.
The contractor, working on behalf of Hull City Council, is to start work on Monday, 22 July, and is expected to take two weeks to complete.
The resurfacing scheme is to improve the deteriorated road surface on Gillshill Road and Ings Road, between Sutton Road and Tween Dykes Road, to ensure the highway is safe and even for all road users.
For the safety of contractors and the travelling public, the works will be undertaken using a full road closure.
Resident access will be maintained via Sutton House Road and the Tween Dykes Road/Ings Road junction. However, some restrictions may apply at specific times.
Bus services will also be suspended on this section of Gillshill Road and Ings Road during the closure. Notices will be placed at the bus stops with more information about the services affected.
The pedestrian footways will not be affected by this closure and access for emergency services will be maintained at all times. Bin collections are scheduled to continue as normal.
Councillor Mark Ieronimo, portfolio holder for transportation, roads, and highways, said: "As a council, we are committed to improving and enhancing the safety of all roads across the city, so I welcome these upcoming resurfacing works.
"Although I understand that roadworks can be inconvenient, these works are vital, to ensure the highway provides a safe, even, and skid resistant surface for all traffic.
"These works will also complement the new zebra crossing on Ings Road, at the junction with Tween Dykes Road, which is due to be completed this week.
"Once both schemes are completed, we hope to see an improvement in both pedestrian and road safety in the area.
"We thank our residents and motorists for their patience and understanding while we carry out these works."
