Caddick Civil Engineering has appointed a new Contracts Manager to drive the business' expansion into the North East alongside sister company, Caddick Construction.
Tony Ingledew will work as part of a growing team headed up by Managing Director, Simon Martin, who was appointed to lead the civil engineering business in January this year.
Tony will be responsible for work winning, contract planning and delivery, overseeing and managing the business’ projects in both Yorkshire and the North East.
Based principally in Caddick's new Durham office, Tony will also contribute to Caddick Civil Engineering’s strategy to expand into new markets and geography, building on the business’ long established presence in the residential market while moving into new industries in the public and private sectors.
The appointment follows Caddick Civil Engineering’s most recent annual results, which reported a £13.5m turnover up 13% on previous year. This forms part of Caddick Construction Group’s consolidated £318m turnover and £7.4m profit for the year ending August 2023.
Tony joins from Wates Construction where he managed complex civil engineering contracts for a range of large-scale projects across the region. Bringing nearly four decades of experience to his new role at Caddick, Tony started his career as an apprentice, undertaking kerb-laying and paving for a housing developer.
Tony commented: "I am tremendously excited to be joining the Caddick team. Its excellent reputation for 45 years of delivering high quality work made the opportunity of becoming part of the business’ ambitions to grow in size, scale, complexity and geography very attractive."
Simon Martin, Managing Director of Caddick Civil Engineering, commented: "I am now six months into my role at Caddick Civil Engineering and it's been a fast-paced few months as we map our growth strategy while we continue to deliver an excellent service for our existing clients. I'm very excited to welcome Tony to the business; he will be instrumental in our expansion in the North East and shares our ambition to lay the groundwork for even more of the region’s development pipeline."
