Housebuilder Story Homes has raised £44,000 for its charity partner, Cancer Research UK (CRUK).

Staff at Story Homes selected CRUK as their charity partner for the 2023/24 financial year, with all colleague and business fundraising going to this worthwhile organisation for the past 12 months. Staff across the business – which has regional offices in Carlisle, Newcastle and Chorley – carried out various fundraising activities to raise money for the charity, ranging from golf days and bake sales, to raffles and dress down days raising £22,000 for the Cancer charity. Thanks to CRUK's 'Double the Impact' match funding scheme, this equated to £44,000 raised for life-saving cancer treatments.

Story Homes will continue to support CRUK for another 12 months, dedicating colleague and company fundraising to the national organisation until March 2025.

Nicky McKenna, CRUK Relationship Manager, said: "We're deeply grateful and proud to have been selected as Story Homes’ Charity of The Year 2023/2024. The phenomenal donation of £44,000 raised by Story Homes employees will enable Cancer Research UK to make new, life-saving discoveries that will allow us to create more moments with our loved ones.

"The dedication of Story Homes’ employees has really been outstanding, and we’d like to sincerely thank them for their time and kindness. It’s both exciting and promising that Story Homes has selected us, for the third year in a row, to be their charity partner 2024/2025. Their passion and commitment will empower Cancer Research UK to make even more progress, in the coming year, creating a world, where everybody lives longer, better lives, free from the fear of cancer. Huge thank you for your continued support. Together we are beating cancer."
