South West Water has revealed its major new alliance with leading engineering firms to bring the company's record investment programme to life.
Known as amplify, the partnership unites some of the country’s best engineering companies to deliver South West Water’s major infrastructure plan for 2025-2030, worth £2.8 billion.
It will drive investment into the local economy, creating around 2,000 new jobs, with new treatment works and reservoirs among the investments planned as part of the company’s ongoing commitment to its customers, communities and the environment.
To help deliver the projects, BAM Nuttall, Clancy, Mott McDonald Bentley, Tilbury Douglas, MWH Treatment and Network Plus Envolve are amplify’s main construction partners following a highly competitive tendering process.
They will be supported by a range of consultancy organisations: Stantec, Long O Donnell, and Turner & Townsend will provide project management; Aecom, ChandlersKBS and Turner & Townsend will ensure best value-for-money; while Aecom, Arcadis, Pell Frischmann, Stantec and WSP will produce innovative designs.
Together as amplify, they have already started working on projects which will help South West Water dramatically reduce the use of storm overflows, maintain the region’s excellent bathing waters, and strengthen water resilience in the face of climate change.
Susan Davy, South West Water's Chief Executive, said: "I'm delighted to introduce amplify, which will turn our record planned investment of £2.8bn in the region into reality for customers and communities. We’re already tackling the challenges customers care about most, and by working with our supply chain partners, we will also be creating jobs and supporting the local economy across the Greater South West."
