Avant Homes Central has started building work on a £47 million, 200 new home multi-tenure development in Somercotes, near Alfreton.
Called Seely Fields and located off Birchwood Lane, the 20-acre development will comprise a mix of two-, three-, four- and five-bedroom practically designed, energy efficient homes. It will feature 16 of Avant Homes’ house types, with prices to be released at a later date.
Of the 200 homes, 30 per cent have been designated to affordable housing. Avant Homes has also committed to a community contribution of £875,000 to support local secondary and post-16 education, public transport, open green spaces and local grass-roots sports.
Avant Homes Central anticipates it will release the first homes for sale at Seely Fields in June and that the first residents will move in early next year. A four-bedroom Horbury showhome is scheduled to open in November.
Avant Homes Central director in charge, Matt Barker, said: "Work is progressing well at Seely Fields and we are looking forward to delivering a wide variety of quality new homes for everyone.
"As a multi-tenure housebuilder, we want to create vibrant communities and make owning a new home as accessible to as many people as possible wherever they are on their home buying journey.
"We will do just that at Seely Fields, so anyone wanting to own one of our practically designed, energy efficient homes should register their interest with us now ahead of our sales launch in June."
