Construction firm Kier has been selected to lot A1 of Network Rail's North West & Central Region CP7 (Control Period 7) Framework.

The framework will run for five years from 1 April 2024 to 31 March 2029, with the potential for a two-year extension. Lot A1 covers projects ranging from £7 million to £200m in value.

The works covered by the Framework include civil engineering and building works to existing and new stations, depots, platforms, car parks and other lineside buildings as well as railway engineering works, such as signalling, switches and crossings, telecoms, electrification work and more.

The North West and Central region is the economic spine linking major cities. It runs from London Euston through to the West Midlands regions, the North West of England and Cumbria before joining with Scotland. It is also home to the West Coast Mainline, the busiest mixed-use railway in Europe and is a new regional appointment for Kier's rail business.
