The newly rebranded Octavius Regional Civil Engineering (ORCE) business has secured several new contracts.
These include Somerset County Council awarding ORCE a four-year framework contract to deliver a wide variety of highway improvement projects. These include safety schemes and traffic calming measures and infrastructure associated with active travel, electric vehicles, public transport and mobility hubs.
The A27 New Monks Farm roundabout works on the A27 was originally delayed due to the previous main contractor entering administration. ORCE has been appointed by Community Stadium Limited to complete the main highways works by the summer 2024.
On the 10 Year Bournemouth Christchurch and Poole Council (BCP) Term Service Contract the team have 27 projects starts planned this year and two projects for COFA due to be completed by March 2024.
The Vehicle Restraint System (VRS) team has signed new contracts with Kier Northampton in addition to existing contracts with TKJV and Kier with 20 new project VRS awards across Kent, Sussex and Hampshire.
A new award is the civil engineering work associated with a district heating programme at Exeter for EON Energy, with work due to commence in the first quarter of the year.
Gavin Prichard Managing Director Highways said: "The transition of the former R&W Civil Engineering business into Octavius is gathering pace and progressing very well. This is in large part due to the aligned cultures and ways of working that attracted us to the business in the first instance. We are reaping the continued commitment and hard work shown by everyone involved. It is particularly pleasing as we launch the new brand identity for our regional business unit that the quality and reliability that this team provides continues to be recognised by both our existing and new customers."
