Plans Brought Forward To Develop Energy Efficient Homes In Darlington

Construction News Image
Housebuilder, Homes by Esh has brought forward a development of 144 energy efficient homes in Darlington.

The collection of two-, three- and four-bedroom houses at Hurworth Meadows is located on the cusp of the Tees Valley, near to the A66, and appeals to people looking to get on the property ladder or those seeking to make their first home switch.

While show homes are due to open in Spring 2024, Homes by Esh has opened the market early providing buyers the opportunity to reserve off-plan. Exclusive opening week offers include £5,000 towards your deposit, £1,000 towards solicitors’ fees and £1,000 towards mortgage arrangement costs.

Each home has been designed with expert technology and green features to ensure sustainability and economic viability during a time when mortgage rates are becoming more favourable. Earlier this week, HSBC announced it had cut its first-time buyer five-year fixed mortgage for those with a deposit of just 5% to 4.99%.

Colin Willetts, deputy managing director at Homes by Esh, said: "The development at Hurworth Meadows comes to the market at an ideal time for first time buyers. With mortgage rates dropping, now is the right time to act for those wishing to make 2024 the year they buy their first home.

"At Homes by Esh, we have merged technology with expertise to produce homes constructed with the latest features to help reduce energy consumption, water usage and waste. We understand the challenges of the market now and introduced our exclusive deals to support prospective homeowners and alert them to the potential benefits."

The show homes, which will be available for viewings in the spring, will include two new house types, a two-bedroom Azalea and three-bedroom Foxglove. The Azalea two-bedroom property comes complete with an en-suite, proving an ideal first-time home for an individual or a couple. The larger Foxglove show home is designed with a spacious open-plan kitchen and dining area, as well as en-suite.
