Housebuilder Bellway has commenced work on a new development in Oldham, having recently received planning consent to build 130 homes.
The 12.82 acre site is located on Linney Lane in Shaw. Formerly a distribution centre, the land will be transformed into a picturesque residential development offering high quality new build three and four bedroom properties.
Known as Old Brook View, a reference to the River Beal that runs through the site, the new development will provide a range of semi detached and detached houses, all with private gardens and one or two allocated car parking spaces and/or garage
Part of Bellway's Artisan Collection, the properties at Old Brook View are individually designed with a superb internal and external specification including many luxurious features to ensure a flexible and modern living space for discerning purchasers.
Particular attention will also be given to the development itself, with Bellway naturalising a culverted section of the River Beal, opening and widening the channel. This new and improved watercourse will be surrounded by areas of public open space, forming a green corridor through the development.
Grace Yarlett, Sales Director at Bellway Manchester, said: "The plans for Old Brook View are fantastic. The development will provide a superb range of properties for buyers, as well as extensive landscaped grounds and pathways, incorporating the river, creating a semi-rural feel.
"We're delighted to have made an immediate start on site with work commencing and look forward to the development taking shape in the coming months."
Bellway worked with Manchester’s Gateley solicitors on the planning and Chesters Astle Planning & Design Ltd (APD) on the design of the development.
In addition to the new development, Bellway has made a significant Section 106 contribution totalling £278,932 and has allocated 26 properties to be sold at discounted market value.
