Demolition work has commenced on one of the few remaining brownfield sites in Tetbury, clearing the way for the construction of 45 contemporary zero carbon homes.
The 0.85 hectare site is located on a prominent position on London Road, next to the Tesco superstore. It has been vacant for several years, having previously been a garage, petrol station and retail store. The site is recognised locally as an eyesore ripe for regeneration.
The brownfield site will eventually become 45 new homes known as The Limes. Comprising a mix of contemporary homes with parking and garages to most. There will be two bedroom coach houses, along with two, three and four bedroom homes. The homes will have high levels of insulation and solar panels for electricity generation. Additionally they have air source heat pumps for hot water and heating and electric car charging points.
Newland Homes has nine developments underway in the South West. These developments will provide nearly 300 zero carbon new homes in the near future. Zero carbon homes are the future for housing, creating as much prime energy* as they need thanks to their use of renewable energy. Altogether, this makes them score highly at the absolute pinnacle of energy efficiency and environmental impact. Therefore, far surpassing the UK’s current building regulations.
Marcus Evans, Sales and Marketing Director at Newland Homes, commented: "Brownfield sites such as this are a rarity in the centre of Tetbury and it’s a great honour to be responsible for its transformation. It will create much-needed, high-quality, zero carbon homes which provide a cleaner and greener alternative to homeowners and transform the way homes are designed and run."
