Balfour Beatty To Begin Work On Fort Hamilton Project

Balfour Beatty Communities has commenced a multi-phased development project at Fort Hamilton, New York.

The real estate investment and management company has partnered with the United States Army to deliver new homes to the Fort Hamilton base housing community.

Three new homes will be constructed for senior leaders at the base, which will replace the previous units that were more than 50 years old. These new homes will overlook New York Harbor and the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge and feature fiber cement, architectural shingles, standing seam metal roofs, two-car garages, granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, and a combination of engineered hardwood flooring, tile, and carpet.

The construction of these three homes will begin later in October 2023 and are expected to be complete in 2024.

The project also includes interior and exterior renovations of ten apartment buildings in Doubleday Village at Fort Hamilton Family Homes, which is expected to be completed by the end of 2023.

Sean Kent, Senior Vice President, Renovation and Construction for Balfour Beatty Communities said: "At Balfour Beatty Communities, it's our mission to deliver quality communities that service members and their families are proud to call home.

"In keeping our commitment, we are proud to launch this project to enhance the community and improve the quality of life of those serving our country."

Col Brian Jacobs, US Army Garrison Fort Hamilton Commander said: "The partnership between U.S. Army Garrison Fort Hamilton and Balfour Beatty Communities stands as an example of what collaboration is all about and further demonstrates the commitment of the partnership to provide quality housing for our military families.

"Working transparently and effectively together, this team continues to set new standards for quality housing, outstanding service, and overall care for the U.S. Army’s most precious resource, its Soldiers, and their Families."
