Mecalac has won the prestigious Red Dot Design Awards: 'Best of the Best' for the innovative and safety-oriented design of its all-new REVOTRUCK. The Red Dot Design Awards is one of the most renowned product design competitions internationally and the 'Best of the Best'accolade is the highest honour in the competition.
The judges praised the concept highly, commenting: "The REVOTRUCK is impressively multifunctional and shows quasi-transformational characteristics for safer material transport."
While site dumpers undeniably offer an efficient method for transporting significant quantities of material, they also represent nearly one-third of all transport-related accidents on construction sites. This issue primarily arises due to the obstructed visibility caused by their front loads while moving forward. To minimize this risk, Mecalac's design team conducted an extensive on-site analysis, identifying visibility, stability, and maneuverability as critical areas of concern. These insights led to the development of the REVOTRUCK, an innovative concept designed from scratch to address these challenges.
ROTATING CABIN: MAXIMUM VISIBILITY
Getting the best view without having to manually manoeuvre is now possible thanks to the REVOTRUCK's rotating cab, which opens up visibility in all directions. This design ensures drivers can quickly maintain optimal focus on the job and surroundings while maintaining a correct and comfortable posture.
UNLIMITED ACCESS: SAFETY WITHOUT COMPROMISE
The REVOTRUCK has four wide access points at each corner of the operator's station to ensure safe access to the machine, regardless of the cab position.
RIGID CHASSIS: OUSTANDING STABILITY
Central chassis oscillation of up to 20° ensures permanent stability and traction in all conditions. This unique chassis is coupled with four equally-sized wheels with a switchable steering mode that opens up possibilities for working with superior agility in the tightest spaces.
The REVOTRUCK revolutionizes the way to work with a dumper and takes operator safety and comfort to a new level.
As well as being named as a finalist in the BAUMA Innovation Awards, this new accolade adds to a growing number of awards Mecalac has already received for this product: 'Grand Prix matériel' DLR (France), Plantworx Innovation Award (UK) and 'Premio Potencia' (Spain).
