Regeneration partnership specialist, Regen Partners, has announced the appointment of a leading industry figure as Director, as it looks to grow its portfolio of projects across the UK.
Stephen Parker has been named as the business' director of regeneration, bringing more than 40 years of experience in various sectors and senior roles including a considerable amount of time in the construction industry.
Parker will lead the business' work in the south of the country, which he will undertake alongside his existing position as client relationship manager at Regen Partners' sister company GT3 Architects.
Before joining GT3 in 2022, Parker spent more than a decade at contractor Willmott Dixon, where he was national leisure and hotel sector lead.
He said: "At a time when public sector organisations are being impacted by shortfalls in central government support, reduced revenue streams and a lack of bank funding, the work that Regen Partners does in helping bring regeneration schemes forward is more important than ever.
"We are really looking to up the ante in terms of the conversations we are having with local authorities and work in partnership with them to find solutions that can create deliverable, sustainable regeneration schemes that truly serve local communities.
"This new role will help grow the business' visibility across the UK as we look to have those conversations that can get complex regeneration projects the backing they need before a spade is in the ground."
Working in partnership with local authorities, educational bodies and the private sector nationally, Regen Partners provides the commercial know-how and market relationships to generate funding for regeneration projects that help build public sector development portfolios.
The team is currently working with or in active discussions with nearly a dozen councils and public sector bodies across the UK.
Mark Gowdridge, director at Regen Partners, said: "Stephen has been instrumental in the growth of Regen Partners thus far, having worked with the business since its inception. His appointment as director of regeneration solidifies this role going forward as we look to grow our portfolio of projects across the UK.
"Regen Partners offers a unique, innovative and independent solution to the challenges facing local authorities and other public sector bodies, and Stephen's continued input and expertise is invaluable in driving this forward."
