Homes by Esh has handed over 11 newly constructed homes to affordable housing provider Hellens Residential.
The new homes are part of Homes by Esh's Mount Park development in Springwell Village. The village is a ten-minute drive from Newcastle City Centre with commuter links to the A1 and A19.
The completed site will feature a total of 75 homes as well as 1.3 acres of publicly accessible green space and a children's play area.
The development includes a range of house types, with the currently on-sale properties consisting of a mix of two and three-bedroom homes.
The new houses will be put on sale at 70% of the market value, backed by the Government's Discount Market Sale scheme which aims to help people purchase their own homes.
Reflecting on the new partnership, Colin Willetts, deputy managing director at Homes by Esh, said: "This is the first time we have worked with Hellens Residential, and we're delighted to have handed over the first properties which provide the ideal opportunity for families, couples, and solo purchasers to buy their own home in a sought-after location.
"Mount Park has proven to be a very popular development; we are now 80% sold and the site is due for completion at the end of this year."
Commenting on the development, Kate Hellens, managing director of Hellens Residential said: "We are delighted to be delivering more affordable housing in Sunderland and providing opportunities for local people to make their first step on the property ladder.
"We have just launched phase one consisting of three discount sale homes with a starting price of £178,000 for a two-bedroom property."
