Upgrades have been announced for Lostock Park in Stretford.
The £110,000 investment will be spearheaded by a partnership between The Veolia Environmental Trust, The Friends of Lostock Park and The One Trafford Partnership (OTP).
The development will include the creation of a new beginners skate park and woodland trail as well as the installation of new gym equipment.
The woodland trail will be created by The Conservation Volunteers (TCV) a national, volunteer-led that aims to improve green spaces.
The trail will be marked at every 100 meters with carved timber sculptures. Volunteers will also create a woodchip walkway through the wooded section at back of the park to link up the perimeter.
Commenting on the project, Councillor Stephen Adshead, Executive Member for Highways, Environmental & Traded Services, said, "The positive impact of this project on our residents will be enormous. We continue to find ways to not only improve the aesthetics of our public and green spaces but also strive to make them a place for social integration and learning, especially with our children and families. I'm looking forward to its completion."
