Next Stage Of Redevelopment Work To Begin On Jubilee Parade

Construction News Image
Redevelopment work at Jubilee Parade on Lowestoft's seafront is to commence on Monday 15 May.

East Suffolk Council was awarded £4.3 million through the Government's Levelling Up Fund to bring forward the next phase of Jubilee Parade, located on Lowestoft’s seafront.

The funding will enable the council to realise its vision for further regeneration of the seafront, to drive the visitor economy and improve the quality of life for local people.

The Jubilee Parade development will include a new two-storey building with a first-floor café, offering uninterrupted views of the sea and the award-winning South Beach, along with new showers, toilets, and a Changing Places facility. The development will complement the Eastern Edge beach huts, which opened last year.

Before ground works for the development can begin, ground investigations are required including some work on the upper esplanade and lower promenade which may cause disruption for residents and businesses in the vicinity. These works are expected to last for five days.

During the works, a temporary footpath closure will be in effect, and the upper esplanade restricted by the contractors site compound.
