Redcopters Completes Large Scale Drone Survey Of Lock-Up Garages

Construction News Image
Redcopters has completed a large scale drone survey of lock-up garages, across the whole area of Hemel Hempstead for Dacorum Borough Council.

For the very first time, the council has a full record of the state of condition of its garage stock. Over 250 locations, and nearly 5,000 individual garages, varying from 'good condition, good roof' to 'utterly derelict'.

"The important thing was to operate our teams efficiently. With two teams on the ground, we had to cover a huge area, and process and index a vast number of photographs. This was a learning experience for both us and the client, but by the end we had the admin down to a 't'. I'm proud to say we delivered over 10,000 photographs, every one of them QA'd and cross-referenced," said Paul Reilly, Business Manager of Redcopters Ltd

"It's put a lot of hours on the drones, not to mention the crew. Fortunately, the area is well served with cafes where we could warm cold hands."

Redcopters is well known for aerial surveys of the roofs, gutters and chimneys of buildings.
