Laker Builders Merchant Unveils Innovative Finance Solution

With our Chairman Tom Parker's support, Laker Builders Merchant have introduced an innovative finance solution that solves the credit challenges faced by SME Housebuilders using Special Purpose Vehicles (SVPs) for development.

SVPs provide property developers with great advantage, however simultaneously in 2023 great challenges, mainly around obtaining credit for materials.

Laker's ground-breaking initiative offers experienced housebuilders and developers access to the same type of finance schemes that the national house builders all use. However levelling the playing files for our SME Property developers offering up to 70% GDV (Gross Development Value), or 90% loan to cost, to pay for your development. Designed around the Government’s scheme to encourage more Smaller Developers to be able to move into the Property Development space, with a wide range of build-projects qualifying. This means Laker has the security to offer improved trading terms to developers with no restrictions. The lender secures any loan on the land, so developers can access materials and labour as fast as they need with absolutely no credit restrictions. The scheme as importantly simplifies payments and therefore frees up significant time for developers to focus on all other key areas.
