Andrew Murray, Executive Chairman at Caddick Construction, is to retire from his position following a career of more than 50 years in the construction industry.
Andrew joined Caddick Construction in 1999, becoming Managing Director in 2007, a role in which he was fundamental to the success and growth of the business and the continued high quality of its project portfolio.
In 2020, Andrew became Executive Chairman of Caddick Construction, a hands-on role which more recently saw him appoint the business' Caddick Construction Group Managing Director, Paul Dodsworth.
Andrew began his career in construction as a 15-year-old apprentice bricklayer, quickly climbing the ranks in various site management, project management and contract management roles across the north of England. During his time at Caddick Construction, Andrew has been fundamental to the strategic direction of the business, including its expansion into the residential market in 2019
A passionate advocate for training the future workforce, Andrew was also actively involved in the business' apprenticeship and trainee programmes, which include a partnership with EN:ABLE Futures to create shared apprenticeship opportunities.
Andrew commented: "Having spent 23 years of my career with Caddick Construction, my decision to step back from my role as Executive Chairman has been made possible by the incredible team I leave behind. Caddick Construction ended 2022 on a strong note with exceptional quality, a healthy pipeline of projects and continually growing capabilities. I am very proud of what has been achieved in my time at the business, and I know that I am leaving it in the very capable hands of our new Construction Group Managing Director, Paul."
