Stepnell is currently aiming to raise £2,500 for Chesterfield Royal Charity by leading a mammoth static bike challenge over the 6 and 7 December.

Participants from Stepnell, hospital employees, project consultants and subcontractors have donned their festive lycra to collectively ride 1,000km in 24 hours across three static bikes in the hospital foyer - aptly decorated and named Rudolph, Donner and Blitzen. The bikes have been kindly loaned by the nearby Nuffield Health Chesterfield Fitness & Wellbeing Gym for the challenge.

Principal contractor Stepnell started work in Summer 2022 on the £2m Health and Wellbeing Hub site, which has been funded by Chesterfield Royal Charity. Once completed in Spring 2023, the money raised by the festive cycle challenge will contribute to providing furniture and equipment to support activities and mindfulness in the hub, including chairs, mats and artwork to be enjoyed by the hospital’s 4,500 NHS staff.
