United Living Group, the provider of infrastructure, housing and property services, has announced that its subsidiary, United Living Infrastructure Services (ULIS) has won a multi-million pound contract with National Grid to complete further works on the Hatton Compressor Upgrade Project in Lincolnshire.
As a leading UK gas and energy engineering specialist, the contract is one of many recent project wins by ULIS, including Catton-Cummersdale gas pipeline diversion and Decommissioning 22 (another National Grid project).
At Hatton, Lincolnshire, ULIS has been on site since October 2021 and has already completed enabling works and pipework diversions. ULIS will now complete the latest phase of the project, which will see the installation of civils, above and below ground pipework and steelwork fabrication design, supply and construction to house the new compressor.
The Hatton Compressor Station has a pivotal role in the National Transmission System (NTS). Falling under the Industrial Emissions Directive, part of retained EU law under the European Union (Withdrawal) Act 2018, the UK is looking to improve the energy efficiency of its infrastructure and reduce the subsequent environmental impact of its operations. The project will utilise best-in-class infrastructure replacing the two existing compressor units with a single, larger and more environmentally friendly unit.
The project is expected to be completed by December 2023.
