HG Construction has been appointed as the main contractor for Elysian Residences' new retirement village scheme in Tunbridge Wells, which is being developed in a joint venture with Octopus Real Estate.
Located close to Tunbridge Wells town centre, the new urban retirement village will comprise three luxury apartment buildings with 89 apartments. Facilities include a lounge and library, restaurant and bar, function room, guest suite, gym and treatment rooms, as well as landscaped communal gardens. Support will be available if required.
HG Construction will be self-delivering the MEP on the scheme and will utilise off-site manufactured bathroom pods and utility cupboards, offering efficiency and sustainability benefits. Construction is now underway and is expected to complete in Spring 2024.
This is the second scheme that HG is delivering for Elysian Residences. The contractor is already working on a similar scheme in Berkhamsted which will deliver 103 apartments.
Adam Quinn, CEO, HG Construction said: "We are delighted to be partnering with Elysian Residences once again on this fantastic scheme which will provide exceptional accommodation and facilities for older people, as well as a strong sense of community and support. We have already established a great working relationship with Elysian Residences through our scheme in Berkhamsted and welcome the opportunity to collaborate with them again on this project. We will look to maximise local employment, apprentice and work experience opportunities as part of the scheme in addition to wider community outreach programmes."
