Galliford Try has been shortlisted for the 54th Structural Steel Design Awards (SSDA) for the Assembly Bristol, Building A regeneration scheme.
Sponsored by the British Constructional Steelwork Association (BCSA), the SSDA shortlist showcases projects that utilise steel-based systems in sustainable, flexible and versatile applications in buildings across the UK.
Building A at Assembly Bristol, is a steel-framed construction and is the first of three buildings being built by Galliford Try at the new landmark development for Bristol. Designed by AHMM and developed by Bell Hammer and AXA IM-Real Assets, the building is a new architype for Bristol office spaces, reinventing a site that had lain empty since 2008 when the former Clerical Medical HQ was demolished.
Overlooking the River Avon, adjacent to Temple Way near the city centre, Assembly Bristol includes an impressive range of flexible office spaces over a 300,000 sqft footprint. The development achieved a BREEAM Excellent, WELL enabled and WiredScore Platinum, accreditation, marking it out a sustainable, modern development.
Simon Courtney, Managing Director of Galliford Try Building West Midlands and South West, commented: "This nomination is fantastic recognition for Assembly Bristol and the whole project team. The Building A facility is part of a high-quality new development and we look forward to delivering the next phases of the scheme to the same award-worthy standard."
The winners will be announced on 29 September.
