Mace has appointed Michele Wheeler, a qualified nurse with extensive construction project management and healthcare delivery experience, as its new Healthcare Director for Construct to spearhead its healthcare offer and drive Mace's strategic growth plans.
Michele joins Mace from the St Helena Government where she was the Portfolio Director for Health and Social Care and was responsible for managing the island’s largest portfolio, overseeing health and social care services.
Prior to that Michele was Executive Director for Healthcare across Asia and the Pacific for AECOM. During her extensive career she has worked in a range of healthcare provider and commissioner organisations working across acute, primary care and mental health services including Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, where she was Director of Redevelopment as well as operating at policy level for the Department of Health and Social Care.
At Mace, Michele will work closely alongside Construction Director Nick Abbey and the public sector team to support the development of the Mace Construct healthcare offer including the New Hospitals Programme as well as MWD Healthcare, Mace’s new partnership with Willmott Dixon as part of the P23 Framework.
