JCB delivery drivers have called off a strike after union members accepted a pay rise of almost 10 per cent.

Dozens of GMB members, employed by delivery giant DHL, were due to walk out on 23 and 24 May.

However, bosses made a last minute offer of 9.5 per cent plus a £750 bonus.

GMB members voted on the offer and an 80 per cent majority accepted the deal.

Stuart Harrison, GMB Organiser, said: "GMB members working for DHL for JCB should be rightly proud of themselves.

"They've been under attack for four years – faced changes to their contracts and a whopping pay cut.

"Now they're walking away with a big pay rise, a bonus and their heads held high."
