Galliford Try's Environment business has received recognition for Uttlesford Bridge, the UK’s biggest off-site water construction project.

It has been shortlisted in the Customer Impact category at the Water Industry Forum (WIF) Innovation Awards.

The project replaced an outdated water treatment works that serves over 120,000 homes in Essex using an innovative offsite modular construction to minimise disruption. Using ground-penetrating radar, 3D laser scans and VR modelling, the design team created a detailed model that allowed a virtual walk through of the design accelerating the programme and reducing health and safety risk and the project’s carbon footprint and the use of raw materials.

Celebrating 10 years of the Water Industry Forum (WIF), the WIF 10th Anniversary Innovation Awards recognise the exceptional innovations implemented and developed by members over the last decade for the benefit of the UK water sector. The winning entries will be announced at the WIF Dinner & Awards in Leeds on Thursday 7 April, in celebration of the organisation's 10th Anniversary.
